The History of Duxford Hire and Supply

Duxford Hire and Supply is a family run business based in Station Road, Whittlesford, just off the A505 and junction 10 of the M11.

The company was founded by Malcolm Evans in 1969 from his home in Duxford, offering garden and horticultural machinery hire, sales and servicing. The business grew steadily, and in 1983, following further expansion, the firm moved to a purpose-built unit at Whittlesford.

With Malcolm still at the helm, his team includes his wife - Julie, son - Martin, and industry-qualified mechanics David and Justin. Malcolm says, "The company has progressed a lot since we started, but basically we are the same - we offer good quality products with personal service, only on a larger scale."

Now, in the large showroom you will find an extensive range of garden and forestry machinery and equipment, catering for both the domestic, and the professional user.

In 2006, having a well-established connection with the supply and servicing of chain saws and forestry products, Duxford Hire and Supply was appointed Stihl main dealers for Cambridgeshire. Together with this, they have recently been appointed the Fletcher Stuart Arborist main dealer for the county too.
